Bakin' 5 is my take on Colin Cowherd's Blazin' 5. Every Friday, Cowherd announces his Blazin' 5 picks on his FS1 show The Herd. The sports media personality selects his 5 favorite NFL bets of the week. On Bakin' 5, I'll post our selections.
Let's bake it up.
Colin Cowherd likes the Cowboys -4.5, Dolphins -2, Vikings +2.5, Giants +7, and Broncos +1. I like the Football Team -1.5, Giants +7, Jets +7, Broncos +1, and Buccaneers -7.
Here's why.
On Washington (-1.5) vs Atlanta:
I love backing teams off blowout losses. The Washington Football Team got whipped last Sunday. Atlanta isn't Buffalo, though. The Washington Football Team should find success against the weak Falcons offensive line. Chase Young wreaks havoc, and Washington beats a flawed Falcons team with ease. This is a Bookiemonster Gold pick.
On New York (+7) vs New Orleans:
Like it? I love it. Daniel Jones plays better on the road, and this spread was less than a touchdown on the lookahead line. The Saints are averaging just 4.3 yards per play. New York keeps it close in a low scoring game.
On Tennessee vs New York (+7):
Wilson and the Jets have faced Vic Fangio's Broncos, Bill Belichick's Patriots, and the #1 ranked Panthers defense. Time to buy low on the Jets. Love the home dog catching a touchdown vs a banged up Tennessee team.
On Baltimore vs Denver (+1):
I'm all over Denver this week. Denver has a great home field advantage, and this game is essentially a pick em. Lamar Jackson is banged up, and this Denver team has dominated teams through three games. The Broncos establish themselves as Super Bowl contenders.
On Tampa Bay (-7) vs New England:
I'd buy this down to 6.5, but the posted number is 7 at most places. I think Tampa Bay is a much better football team. Tampa Bay is weak in the secondary right now, but I don't think Mac Jones can exploit that weakness. Coming off a loss, the Bucs will be motivated to play. Brady will look to stick it to Belichick in his return to Foxborough. Bucs win comfortably.
